Life Is Suite At The Bacara Resort & Spa❤
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Gorgeous Bacara Resort and Spa, located just outside of the beautiful town of Santa Barbara.
We took advantage of their promotional “Midweek Renew & Retreat Package” which included stay in one of their beautiful spa villas, and 2 50-minute swedish massages for each day of our stay
The resort is located along 78 acres of ocean front property, with a 2-mile stretch of natural beach which was beautiful to look at, unfortunately, it comes with a major downside…TAR!!! little globs of tar wash up onto the sand and stick to anything they come in contact with…which I found out the hard way when I did my photo-shoot on the beach… For some reason there are no warning signs about the tar anywhere on the property. As I began frolicking around in the sand, I started to notice clumps of sticky black goo all over my skin. I didn’t know what it was at first, and by the end of my shoot i was COVERED in the stuff. SO gross! My shoes & swimsuit were completely ruined, and I had it all up in my hairdoo
I had to buy bottles of baby oil at the gift shop and it took me 2 hours to get the stuff off of me. What a nightmare! I can honestly say this was my only major complaint about my stay here, I just wish they would have warned us about the tar when we checked in so that I would have been aware of it!
Other than the tar on the beach, the rest of the resort is truly beautiful. The Spa is in a league of its own, offering a 42,000 square foot facility complete with a Redwood sauna, luxurious whirlpool and steam rooms, an adults-only zero-edge saline pool, a cozy fireside lounge and rooftop terrace. Adjacent to the spa is an amazing Fitness Center, which includes a 3,500 square foot cardiovascular and strength training center, yoga and Pilates studios, and four Har-Tru surface tennis courts. Complimentary fitness classes and walks are available to those wishing to add an active element to their relaxing get-away, while private and semi-private Pilates and yoga sessions as well as personal training are also available.
The convenient 10 minute drive into Santa Barbara made it easy to go have dinner in town 2 out of the 3 nights during our stay, and on the last night we dined at Miró, a four star restaurant at the resort, named for the Spanish abstract impressionist, Joan Miró.The food was delicious with outstanding presentation, and our “Rocky Road” dessert was to die for…a rich, gooey brownie topped with a thin crumbly chocolate chip cookie & a toasted house-made marshmallow, drizzled with hot fudge sauce and accompanied by salty sweet caramel ice cream with pistachios. This dessert was truly chocolate heaven!!!
I would highly recommend the Bacara Resort & Spa as a wonderful romantic getaway, just remember to wear your old shoes to the beach & don’t touch the sand!
